Confidence in the Isle of Man Fund Industry - Legis Group expand into the Isle of Man
Douglas, Isle of Man – 21st May 2009 Legis Group expand into the Isle of Man in a joint venture with PKF IOM
Legis Fund Services (Isle of Man) Limited, “Legis” has been established by the Legis Group, in association with PKF IOM and the West Group of offshore service providers (“West Group”).
The Legis Group provides a full service administration capability to a wide range of open and closed ended fund structures and other investment vehicles, including property funds, private equity and venture capital vehicles, structured product entities, funds of hedge funds, as well as traditional long-only equity and bond funds, and has recently been shortlisted as ‘Best Small Fund Administrator’ by HFMWeek Awards 2009
Legis has appointed Sandra McAuliffe as managing director of the joint venture company. Sandra joins Legis with more than twenty years experience in the investment funds sector spent in the Isle of Man, Jersey, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria and Germany. Prior to joining Legis, Sandra was a regulator and headed up the Funds and Investment Services team at the Financial Supervision Commission in the Isle of Man.

Sandra has a wealth of experience in establishing and operating a wide range of investment structures and her time spent as a regulator is proving to be invaluable” commented Stuart Platt-Ransom, group managing director of the Legis Group.
To celebrate the launch of the new company, Legis hosted a launch party at the Villa Marina in Douglas, which was attended by many local dignitaries and representatives of the Financial Services sector. Opened by Tony Brown MHK, Chief Minister, Mr. Brown remarked “It is very encouraging to see the Isle of Man continue to attract successful businesses to the island, particularly during difficult and challenging economic times; I am very pleased to welcome Legis Fund Services (Isle of Man) to the island and wish them every success for the future"
