With just a few days remaining before this year's Race for Life, staff from Legis Group have been putting in some final training sessions.
Even though runners can choose to walk, jog or run on the day, the Legis Group team intend to run the whole 5km at the event on Sunday (11 July).
For one team member, Kate Brehaut, the day also holds a greater significance. Ms Brehaut lost her father to cancer three years ago and will be running the race in his memory on Sunday, accompanied by team mates and co-workers Lisa Bichard, Alison Parry and Julie Chester.
The women's only race, which annually sees more than 2,000 local competitors take part to raise money for Cancer Research UK is one of over 230 races to take place across the UK over the summer.
"Cancer Research UK is such a worthwhile cause and we were only too happy to take part and get fundraising. Everyone is getting into the spirit of the event, with us each donning pink accessories for the occasion," said Ms Bichard.
After weeks of training, the ladies are keen to get going, especially Ms Chester, who will be taking part in the event for the third time this year.
"We've each been getting fit in different ways. I've been cycling, doing circuits and going to the gym to prepare for the race. It should be a great day," she said.
The runners will set off from Footes Lane at 11am on Sunday before heading off around Saumarez Park and returning to the Garenne Stand.
